If youre going to be a one-trick pony, you should do that one trick really really well. While this app performs as advertised, it is just not yet feature-rich enough to be useful.
On the main article list for a feed there is no way to indicate which articles have already been read, and no way to skip them. When you start reading it always starts at the top. Theres no way to advance to the next article in the list, without opening an article. When you return to the list its hard to see where you were, and if you again click on the icon to start reading it just goes back to the start of the list. Very annoying!
No integration with aggregation services like Feedly means I cant use this in conjunction with my existing collections of feeds.
No background support. If you turn off the device or leave the app, the reading stops. And if course when you return, it doesnt remember where you left off. I wont be able to use this to read me articles when driving in my car while also using my GPS.
Theres a feature where you can flag an article to be read later, but in order to use this you have to sign in via Facebook or Twitter. What? No reason is given, but for many this is likely an overstep of privacy concerns.
Standard Siri voice, no options for purchasing higher quality voices.
A good start, but the lack of the most basic features or usability means this wont make it into my regular routine. While it doesnt have direct RSS support, Voice Dream is a much better TTS app.
